⚫ ARJUN'S PRECEPTORS:

Not only Dronacharya, but also Agnivesh,Indra,Chitrasena and Mahadev himself were the Preceptors of Arjun.

At Gurukul,Arjuna became celebrated for the firmness of his grasp (of weapons), for his lightness of motion, precision of aim, and his proficiency in the use of the Kshura, Naracha, Vala and Vipatha weapons, indeed, of all weapons, whether straight or crooked or heavy. And Drona certified that there was none in the world who was equal to Arjuna in lightness of hand and general proficiency.

Indra taught Arjun his personal weapons like Thunderbolt,Mahendrastra etc

Gandharwaraj Chitrasena taught Arjun song and dance.

⚫ MAHADEV TEACHING TO ARJUNA:

Shiva did not give Arjuna just Pashupata (also called Brahmashira) but he also gave him Sthurnakarna astra (the god for this weapon is Shankukarna, an avatar of Siva)

SharVarshastra (this is legacy of Shiva as storm god of Rig Veda)

 * Shalbhastra (it appears as thousands and lakhs of arrows and other weapons which appear and then target and destroy the enemy soldiers)

 * Ashmavasha Astra (this creates millions of rocks and boulders and rain down on the enemy) as well as Raudrastra. Arjuna obtained in all fifteen Astras other than Pashupataastra from Siva. Ok so the kirata trip is not really about pashupata. when you abridge the story then pashupata stands out.
Not only that, Siva taught Arjuna two more Vidyas in Archery:

 * All archers may know Prayoga, the first vidhi in Dhanurveda.

 * Many will know Upsanhara, the second vidhi (also called recall),

 * still many will know Avarti (distress prevention) vidhi.

Only Arjuna knew the fourth and fifth vidhis of the Dhanurveda, thanks to Siva.

 * Even Drona did now know the fourth one (He got his curse on 14th night/15th morning for not knowing this). That is Prayashachita.

This enables the Archer to bring back to life in case an innocent is killed by the Astra. Arjuna with the knowledge of this Vidya can shoot and use astras regardless of consequences on a large mass of soldiers and would only kill the enemies and can utilize the power of Astra to keep his soldiers and innocents alive. Arjuna never needed
to use it for variety of reasons he later explained in Udyoga Parva. (Vana Parva Chapter 168.)

 * The icing on the cake was the fifth Vidhi,
 Pratighaat.

This vidhi enabled the Archer to utilize the power of the enemy’s astra, any astra and turn it back on the enemy literally taking over the power of the astra fired by the enemy and reversing it.

Vayu is lord of the vidhi and Vayuputras inherit it. Hanuman was unbeatable if you fired divine astras at him and so was Bhima.

When Asvwathamma fired the Narayanastra, the way to defeat it was to give up arms. But one man did not. Bhima. Bhima knew that he can absorb and reverse the Narayanastra. That was the reason why Krishna and Arjuna forced Bhima down for Bhima would turn it back and Narayanaastra would go unchecked and would destroy the world. Asvwathamma was very bad at upasanhara!

 ⚫ ARJUNA VS. BHARGAVAS!!

Indra then sent Arjuna after Nivatakavachas and gifted him his old ratha.

The current Ratha of Indra had Green colored horses while the old Ratha had horses with peacock feather colors (MayuraRoma). Indra had used this Ratha to defeat and kill Shamabarasura, Namuchi, Bala, Vritra, Prahalad (did not die),Narakasura.

In chapter 171, during the battle with
Nivatakavachas, the Neelakantha commentary (which is used by Sanskrit Clay Library for Vana Parva) points out that Arjuna while fighting the Nivatakavachas with #ONE_HAND, #MANAGED_TO_LIFT_THE_CHARIOT_WHEELS_OUT_OF_EARTH_THEY_HAD_STUCK in on Ocean floor.

With the skilled charioteer at helm, Arjuna was able to destroy and kill the Nivatakavachas SINGLE HANDEDLY.

In his description of battle, Arjuna emphasized Matali’s contribution. A good charioteer makes good warrior better. A great charioteer makes a great Warrior invincible. Arjuna here used Mahendrastra defensively as well as Vishoshanastra to dry the targeted Water geysers used by the Nivatakavachas, Varunastra to counter the Bhargavastra by asuras and Shailastra to stop the wind weapons (vayuastra) then astrasambhadini Maya to destroy the Asura mayas and then Vajrastra to kill them.

After destroying the Nivatakavachas, Arjuna also destroyed the Pauloma and Kalaknja Asuras aka Bhargavas they are all descended from Bhrigu.

He killed 60,000 rathis using Raudrastra who
would have taken the side opposite Dharma on the dharmakshtera.

 OM NAMAH SIVAYA

 JAI DHANANJAYA!
