WHO WAS ARJUN ??

THE CONCEPT OF NARA NARAYANA:

SPREAD THIS TO ALL CORNERS OF THE INTERNET & LET PEOPLE KNOW THE TRUTH...

In Hinduism, basically there are two broad divisions-Shaivism & Vaishnavism!

According to Shaivism, LORD  SHIVA is the supreme personality of godhead.Their supreme texts is Shiva Purana. In Shaivism,it is a
common saying in hindi-"Shakti ke bina Shiva bhi Shava hai"..That is-Even Lord Shiva is a dead body (incomplete) without Shakti(Parvati). To summarise,Shiva & Shakti both complete the "Supreme Personality of Godhead" & without one,the other couldnt exist!

Similarly, the vaishnavites consider LORD VISHNU/hari/krishna/rama was the supreme personality of godhead.Their supreme texts are-Shrimad Bhagvatam & Shrimad Bhagvad Gita!

In Vaishnavism,we have the concept of Nara-Narayana analogues to the concept of Shiva-Shakti in Shaivism!According to Vaishnavism,Nara Narayana are inseparable to each other & both can exist without each other! To conclude, both Nara & Narayana complete the Supreme God Almighty-The Supreme Personality of Godhead;who is none other than "Lord Vishnu"..In layman language-Nara+Narayana=Vishnu!!

THIS IS THE BASIC DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VISHNU & NARAYANA..MOST OF US CONSIDER,VISHNU & NARAYANA AS THE SAME,BUT ACTUALLY NARAYANA IS HIMSELF A PART OF THE SUPREME BEING VISHNU & NARA & NARAYANA BOTH COMBINED COMPLETE THE SUPREME GOD-THE VISHNU!!

ALSO SOME PEOPLE GET CONFUSED BETWEEN "RUDRA" & "SHIVA" & CONSIDER THESE 2 TERMS AS SAME,WHICH IS WRONG.LORD SHIVA IS INFACT A COMBINATION OF ALL RUDRAS PUT TOGETHER!IN GITA,VASUDEVA MENTIONS-OF ALL RUDRAS,I AM SHIVA..HENCE LORD SHIVA CANNOT BE EQUATED WITH RUDRA..LORD SHIVA IS INFACT MUCH POWERFULL & POTENT THAN ALL RUDRAS PUT TOGETHER!!

In Veda Vyasa Mahabharata,Lord Shiva explains to Arjuna that he was none other than the avataar of the great sage-Nara & he alongwith Lord Vishnu hold the universe!

Narrative:

"Mahadeva said(To Arjuna):, 'Thou wert in thy former life Nara, the friend of Narayana. In Vadari wert thou engaged in fierce ascetic austerities for several thousands of years. In thee as well as in Vishnu--that first of male beings--dwelleth great might. Ye both, by your might, hold the universe;

Rishi Narada Muni explains the concept of Nara Narayana to Yudhistira:

http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m12/m12c034.htm

The world famous site Nalanda International explains more about Badrinath-The Holy dwelling place of Nara Narayana:

Narrative:

Thus, in the Mahabharata, Krishna, addressing Arjuna, says, "Thou wast Nara in a former body, and, with Narayana for thy companion, didst perform dreadful austerity at Badari for many myriads of years."

Now as usual some fools would ask-Arjuna couldnt exist without Krishna & Krishna cant exist without Arjuna;that means both are inferior!

To understand this concept of Nara Narayana in layman terms, consider the Water molecule..Water is made up of hydrogen & oxygen as we all know. But could we say hydrogen is inferior as it couldnt exist without oxygen in water molecule or conversely oxygen is inferior because it couldnt exist without hydrogen in water molecule??

To put things in a simple manner,it was simply lord Vishnu's spiritual engineering marvel that both Arjuna & Krishna couldnt exist without each other & which neither Krishna nor Arjuna could change!Being inferior or superior is irrelevant in this context!

(B)WHO ARJUNA REALLY WAS- A HUMAN OR THE PART OF VISHNU!!

Now comes the million dollar question..Who was Arjuna-A human or the part of Vishnu himself!

As already mentioned previously,According to Vaishnavism branch of Hinduism,There are 2 supreme texts-Shrimad Bhagvatam & Shrimad Bhagvad Gita!As a matter of fact,we shall take help of these two supreme texts & find out the reality of Arjuna!!

(I) ARJUNA ACCORDING TO BHAGVAD GITA!

Carefully examine what Lord Krishna mention in Chapter 10,verse 37 of Bhagvad Gita:

Narrative:

"Of the descendants of Vrsni I am Vasudeva, and of the Pandavas I am Arjuna. Of the sages I am Vyasa, and among great thinkers I am Usana"

http://www.bhagavad-gita.org/Gita/verse-10-35.html

Have you all noticed what Lord krishna confessed in Gita-Of all Pandavas,I am Arjuna!!

Now its very much clear,Arjuna was nothing but the part of Lord Krishna/Vishnu & thats why nobody could defeat him in battlefield except Lord Shiva as mentioned in Kairata Parva (Vana Parva) of Mahabharata!

In Gita,Lord Krishna call Arjuna as-"The Nishpap (Sinless)" & "The foremost of all men"..Thats very clear now why Lord Krishna had special attachment to Arjuna,as both Arjuna & Krishna were the two faces of the same coin & this coin was nothing but Lord Vishnu himself!

(II) ARJUNA ACCORDING TO SHRIMAD BHAGAVATAM!

Now we shall find out Arjuna's reality according to the 2nd most reverred texts in Vaishnavism branch of Hinduism-Shrimad Bhagvatam or simply Bhagvad Purana:

Narrative:

There the Supreme Lord as Nârâyana, incarnated in the form of His humanity, and as Nârâ, in the form of a sage amiable to everyone, for a long time was of severe penance for the welfare of all living beings.'

There Narâyana in the incarnation of His humanity and Supreme Lordship [Nara and Narâyana] as a sage amiable to everyone did severe penance for a long time for the welfare of all living beings.

(III) ARJUNA WAS BORN WITH DIVINE QUALITIES (QUALITIES OF DEVATAS) & KARNA INHERITED DEMONIC QUALITIES-PROOFS FROM BHAGVAD GITA & ORIGINAL VED VYAS MAHABHARATA!

BIRTH QUALITIES OF ARJUNA-QUOTE FROM BHAGVAD GITA:

Lord Krishna furthur says in Bhagvad Gita-Chapter 16,verse 4 & 5:

Arrogance, pride, anger, conceit, harshness and ignorance--these qualities belong to those of demoniac nature, O son of Prtha.

The transcendental qualities are conducive to liberation, whereas the demoniac qualities make for bondage. Do not worry, O son of Pandu, for you are born with the divine qualities.

http://www.bhagavad-gita.org/Gita/verse-16-02.html

http://www.bhagavad-gita.org/Gita/verse-16-03.html

It is clear as mentioned by Lord Krishna in Bhagvad Gita-Arjuna was born with divine qualities (Qualities of Devatas)!

SRI ARJUNA WAS A PARAM ANSH OF LORD VISHNU !

JAI DHANANJAYA.
