EXPOSING THE FAKE NAGASTRA -

Seems like Blorndies(Blind followers of Lordy Karna) are having problems in digesting facts from their favorite KMG translation. And after abusing Lord Krishna, now they are following ISKCON :P

This post will completely expose fake claims of Blorndies and the fake Nagastra of Karna.

PART 1)REFUTING THE CLAIM OF KARNA FANS -

CLAIM BY BLORNDIES:- ARJUN WAS STUNNED BEFORE KARNA SHOT NAGASTRA,SO HE COULD NOT COUNTER NAGASTRA REGARDLESS OF ASHWASENA'S PRESENCE IN THAT WEAPON -

REFUTATION -

Nothing as such written about Arjun being in a helpless position when Karna shot Nagastra.

IT WAS KARNA WHO FAILED TO PREVAIL OVER ARJUN SO HE RESORTED TO HIS LAST HOPE,HIS SNAKE ARROW -

KMG TEXTS -

When at last Karna found that he could not prevail over Partha and was exceedingly scorched with the shafts of the former, that hero, his limbs very much mangled, set his heart upon that shaft of his which lay singly within a quiver. The Suta's son then fixed on his bow-string that foe-killing, exceedingly keen, snake-mouthed, blazing, and fierce shaft, which had been polished according to rule, and which he had long kept for the sake of Partha's destruction.

BORI -

Translation -

“O king! The clash between Arjuna and Adhiratha’s son assumed a great and dreadful form. They struck each other with arrows, like two fierce elephants goring each other with their tusks. Karna affixed an extremely sharp and flaming arrow that was capable of slaying the enemy. This had a serpent in its mouth”

INFERENCE - FROM KMG AS WELL AS THE MOST AUTHORISED BORI TOO,ITS CLEAR THAT KARNA DID NOT STUN ARJUN,NEITHER WAS ARJUN IN ANY HELPLESS POSITION.BOTH WERE EQUAL THAT TIME,AND KARNA WAS UNABLE TO PREVAIL OVER ARJUN SO HE RESORTED TO THAT SNAKE ARROW.

-----------------------------------

PART 2)EXPOSING THE FAKE NAGASTRA -

TIME TO GIVE ANOTHER HEART ATTACK TO BLORNDIES,THEY ALWAYS BOAST THAT LORDY WAS A VERY FAIR WARRIOR :P
WHAT IF WE TELL THEM THAT THEIR SO CALLED HERO WAS AWARE OF ASHWASENA'S PRESENCE IN HIS ARROW? YES YOU READ IT CORRECT,KARNA WAS AWARE OF ASHWASENA'S PRESENCE IN HIS ARROW AND HE NEVER REFUSED THE HELP OF ASHWASENA.

- KARNA WAS HELPED BY ALL THE SNAKES WHO WERE THE FOLLOWERS OF ASHWASENA AS WELL AS FROM ASHWASENA TOO-

KMG TEXTS:

Endued with great energy, they entered the earth with great force and having bathed (in the waters of the Bhogavati in the nether region) coursed back towards Karna. Those shafts were five mighty snakes that had adopted the side of Takshaka's son (Aswasena whose mother Partha had slain at Khandava).

http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m08/m08089.htm

BORI:

Translation:

“Wishing to slay Achyuta, he next shot five arrows that were like flaming serpents. They were decorated with gold and were aimed well. They pierced Purushottama’s armour with great force and passing through, entered the earth. Having bathed there, they returned to Karna. Quickly, with well-aimed and broad-headed arrows, Dhananjaya sliced each of them into three fragments and they fell down on the ground. They were mighty serpents that were on the side of Takshaka’s son”

INFERENCE: IN KMG AS WELL AS IN BORI,ITS CLEARLY WRITTEN THAT THOSE SNAKES HAD RETURNED TO KARNA AFTER TAKING BATH IN THE BHOGAVATI(CAPITAL OF NAGAS OR NAAGLOK) AND THEY WERE ASSISTING HIM AGAINST ARJUN.

- THE SO CALLED NAGASTRA OF KARNA WAS NOTHING BUT AN ORDINARY ARROW IN WHICH ASHWASENA HAD ENTERED -

KMG TEXTS:

"Indeed, he aimed that blazing arrow, born in #Airavata's #race, for cutting off Phalguna's head in battle."

http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m08/m08090.htm

BORI:

5 ततॊ रिपुघ्नं समधत्त कर्णः; सुसंशितं सर्पमुखं जवलन्तम
    रौद्रं शरं संयति सुप्रधौतं; पार्थार्थम अत्यर्थ चिराय गुप्तम

Translation:

“That immensely virulent weapon was lying down in a golden quiver. It was generated from the lineage of Airavata and flamed”

AIRAVATA IS A SERPENT FROM WHOM ASHWASENA HAS DESCENDED.BOTH KMG AND BORI MENTION THAT ARROW TO BE BORN FROM ASHWASENA.

- IT WAS THE SNAKE ASHWASENA WHO DESTROYED ARJUN DIADEM KIRIT,WHICH WAS INCAPABLE OF BEING DESTROYED -

KMG TEXTS:

"That snake, O king, forcibly tore it away from Partha's head, quickly reducing into fragments that well-made ornament set over with many a gem and blazing with beauty, like the thunderbolt riving a mountain summit decked with lofty and beautiful trees graced with flowers"

http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m08/m08090.htm

BORI:

“The supreme gods were incapable of withstanding it. However, using the serpent, Vrisha now destroyed it. The flame of the poison uprooted it from his head and brought the beloved crown, with flaming rays, down on the ground."

INFERENCE : SHOULD BE CLEAR,THAT ARROW WAS NOTHING BUT ASHWASENA ONLY,SO ZERO CREDIT TO KARNA FOR THAT SHOT.

--------------------------------------------

- NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT,HOW WAS KARNA AWARE OF ASHWASENA'S PRESENCE IN THAT ARROW -

After calling ISKCON fake, Now that Karna fans are switching to ISKCON's followers, lets use the most authorized BORI critical edition to solve the mystery of Karna's snake arrow.

The KMG translation says that Ashwasena entered Karna's arrow when Karna-Arjun war was going on.But the BORI Critical edition does not have these slokas. So From BORI edition its clear that the snake was in Karna's arrow since long back.Basically,Karna used to worship that Snake only.

SLOKAS LINK - http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/mbs/mbs08066.htm

Translations -

“Having said this, he released that arrow, the serpent which he had worshipped for many years. He said, ‘O Phalguna! You have been slain,’ and swiftly shot the arrow. On seeing that Karna had affixed the serpent, Madhava, supreme among strong ones, used his strength to press down on the chariot with his feet.”

From the above translation its clear that Karna worshiped that Snake for several years, and had kept that for Arjun's destruction.Even Krishna saw that Karna had affixed a snake and not exactly an arrow. Now its clear that Karna was aware of his Snake arrow.Karna was not an amateur warrior that he did not even know what he is shooting.Neither is there any mention of Ashwasena entering Karna's arrow during the war,he was in Karna's arrow since long back.

Even from KMG,there are excerpts which hint that Karna was aware of Ashwasena's presence in that arrow-

Narrative:

(Karna to Salya)

I have this shaft, O Shalya, of keen mouth, blood-drinking, lying alone within one quiver, equipped with wings, well-steeped in oil and well-adorned. It lieth amid sandal dust, worshipped by me for long years. Partaking of the nature and form of a snake, it is poisonous and fierce and capable of killing large numbers of men and steeds and elephants of terrible form, and exceedingly awful, it is capable of piercing coats of mail and bones. Inspired with wrath, I may pierce even the mighty mountains of Meru with it.

http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m08/m08040.htm

Now this excerpt also proves that Karna was aware of the destructive nature of that Snake arrow, and later it was the Snake Asvasena who destroyed Arjun's Kirit,so this destructive nature of arrow described by Karna was actually owing to Ashwasena only.Karna won't have liked to tell Salya that he was taking help from a snake so he does not mention Asvasena's name here, but he does tell that he is worshiping the snake for many years.

This excerpt from KMG also proves that Karna was taking help from Snakes-

Narrative:

Endued with great energy, they entered the earth with great force and having bathed (in the waters of the Bhogavati in the nether region) #coursed #back #towards #Karna. Those shafts were five mighty snakes that had adopted the side of Takshaka's son

http://www.sacred-texts.com/hin/m08/m08089.htm

Karna - Ashwasena - Arjuna (As per BORI)

- Karna took the Snake arrow lying Singly in his golden Quiver.(No mention of Snake Ashwasena entering the arrow that time like in KMG,he was in Karna's arrow since long back)

- Krishna sees the Snake and pushes down the chariot,Ashwasena misses his mark.

- No mention of Ashwasena going back to Karna and asking him to shoot again.

- Krishna telling Arjun about Ashwasena and Arjun killing him with 6 arrows.

(Ashwasena chapter closed)
